Laurel Hart Granger 66 died July 3,2021 in Tacoma General Hospital. She was born on October 23, 1954, in St. Cloud, MN to Dale and Donna Hart. She graduated from Owatonna High School in 1973 where she was a cheerleader, on Student Council, and nominated for Homecoming Queen. Laurel attended the College of St. Catherine in St. Paul, graduating with a degree in business. She was hired by IBM and assigned a sales territory in the state of Washington. It was there that she met her future husband, John "Bud" Granger, a USNA '70 graduate and former Marine Corps pilot, now with IBM. She saw him coming out of an elevator and said to her family, “I want to marry a guy just like him"! They were married on November 3, 1979, at St. Joseph's catholic Church in Owatonna, MN. They lived in Mukilteo until about 2011 when \ they moved to Bellingham to be closer to family. Laurel worked for Nordstrom and Macys representing Estee Lauder.

Laurel was one of those vibrant people who had a zest for life and could light up a room by her very presence. She was beautiful, fun-loving, and smart! According to her kids, as they were growing up, she was everyone's favorite mom.

She later started her own business, known as "Button Ears", a line of whimsical jewelry with buttons and charms. Laurel was a home maker extraordinary, always filling the home with love, music, creativity, and joy. She always put her family first. Bud called her “sweet P!" Sadly, she was robbed of these lovely qualities in recent years due to failing health. She is survived by her devoted and loving husband Bud children Patrick and Meghan (Jeremy) Weaver, sister and brother-in-law Carol and Charley Austin, brother-in-law Paul Overson and nephews Scott and Brian (Kirsten) Overson. She was preceded in death by her mother and father and sister Mollie.
